Paroscientific has released a new version of the Digiquartz Interactive software.  Version 2.0 was developed based on years of field experience and customer feedback with Paroscientific Intelligent products.  The new DQI 2.0 has a completely new interface and other new features combined from other Digiquartz software, i.e. Digiquartz® Assistant and Digiquartz Terminal.  This eliminates the need to use several different programs to perform certain tasks.

   Features

  • New, user-friendly interface.  Easy access to instrument parameters and switching between instruments.

  • Ability to setup, configure, verify, plot and log data within a single program.

  • Support for new commands and features in new generation Digiquartz® Products.

  • Support for RS-485, USB and RS-232 interfaces.

  • Improved auto detect feature remembers instrument IDs, serial numbers and communication parameters of instruments from previous communication sessions.

  • Fast switching between the new instrument menu trees and the terminal page.

  • Improved terminal page to capture, time-stamp and process data.

  • Easy high-speed data display and logging.

  • Quick access to embedded help notes.

  • Simplified numerical display screen and easy access to diagnostic parameters.

  • New real-time plotting and logging panel allows fast access to a graphical view of real-time data.

All Digiquartz® Software including Digiquartz® Interactive 2.0 is provided free-of-charge with every Digiquartz® intelligent product.  DQI 2.0 can be downloaded from our web site or you can request it on a Digiquartz® Library CD from Paroscientific.

   User Interface

Figure 1. Digiquartz® Interactive Main Panel

Digiquartz® Interactive 2.0 (DQI) combines features from other Digiquartz® Software making it faster to work and exploiting instrument's full capacity.  Switching between the user-friendly Configuration, Numerical and Graphical Display windows and the Terminal window is easy.  You don't have to exit from one program and launch another one to do a simple task.

Figure 2. Digiquartz® Interactive Configuration Panel

DQI Configuration Panel provides user-friendly access to all intelligent instrument configuration parameters and calibration coefficients in one location.  The parameters are sorted in a tree structure on the left side of the panel while their values are on the right.  Clicking on each branch of the menu tree provides access to current values of these parameters and a way to modify/edit these values.  It is not required to know which commands to issue to an intelligent product to modify a parameter and display its value.  If you are comfortable with the intelligent instrument communication protocol, you can switch to the terminal page and issue raw commands to control an intelligent instrument.

On the same panel, three buttons are available to save the existing configuration of an instrument or reload a previously saved configuration or print it.

Figure 3. Digiquartz® Numerical Display Panel

It is always convenient to see measurement readings numerically on one page.  For this purpose, DQI has the Numerical Display Panel.  On this panel, diagnostic parameters can be displayed with the click of a mouse as well for troubleshooting purposes.  For Broadband Meteorological Systems, this is the page where you can display all pressure, temperature and humidity readings on one page.

Figure 4. Digiquartz® Graphical Display Panel

It is possible to plot and log real-time data in DQI 2.0.  Plotting and logging are single-channel activities .  This means that one parameter at a time can be plotted and logged.  If you need to plot or log more than one parameter simultaneously, consider using Digiquartz® Assistant (DQA).

Figure 5. Digiquartz® Terminal Page

It is easy to switch between user-friendly configuration panel and the terminal window.  Terminal window is usually for those of you who are more comfortable with the intelligent instrument communication commands.  This window can also be used to log high speed data, time stamp them, strip the header off, or switch among several communication ports easily.
